Everyone has probably heard about the mass murders in Matthapan on Tuesday morning around 1AM. I live in Milton so I felt like this was to close for comfort. There were four killed and one hanging on for dear life, but not expected to survive his injuries. The story is very odd, because the victims killed were either in their pajamas or naked on the street. The victims were all in their twenties, except for a toddler that was killed in his mother's arms. This is the most tragic story and so upsetting. Police have not told the media if they have any new leads, besides recovering the gray SUV that was seen fleeing the scene. On Tuesday I watched a half hour show about violence in Boston over the years on Channel 5. This show was very disturbing, because it proved that guns are everywhere. Apparently, you can buy or get a gun as long as you know the right people. People who were interviewed said that youth and adults are carrying guns in order to protect themselves. What I don't understand is how the police is not regulating? I understand they have more important things to do than bother teen, but those teens are going to be the ones causing violence in the future. I worry for our country, because it is becoming like every man for himself. Does anyone else agree???
Here is an article from Boston.com about the story:

Cali Bound!!!
Next Wednesday I am off to California to visit my brother at school. This will be my first time and I am going with one of my good friends. I am so excited I can't handle it! We are flying into LAX and hanging out their for two hours, which I intend to take advantage of. I want to explore and even maybe see/meet someone famous. I am going to Santa Barbra for a week and I intend to shop, lounge at the beach, and be a tourist. Has anyone ever been there? Do you have any recommendations?
I have been waiting to go to California ever since I was in middle school and never missed The OC on Thursday nights. Although I am not venturing to The OC I will one day get there. I have this image of what California is like, which is just famous people walking around like nothings wrong and everyone is dressed in amazing clothes! The media has really warped my idea of what California is like and I really need to stop watching E! news haha.

What happened to Lindsey Lohan?
Today I was reading an article in People Magazine today about how Lindsey is on her way back to rehab. This is her fourth trip back and is completely voluntary. I think she is a joke and is just trying to stay in the limelight of the media. She is never going to make a good comeback, like Britney did with Circus. Lindsey should just lay low and remember the good old days of The Parent Trap, Mean Girls, and Freaky Friday. Does anyone else agree? Maybe I am being a little harsh, but who cares about her. She messed up and made bad decisions that were illegal she should be punished and get help. I feel bad for her, but she needs to get her act together!!

Katy Perry gets the boot from Sesame Street
Katy Perry was recently given the boot from premiering on Sesame Street, because of inappropriate clothing. Parents said her recent video re-make of Hot and Cold with Elmo showed to much cleavage. The song was actually really funny and age appropriate. It was about dress up time and how Elmo didn't want to play with her because he's hot and cold. There was a article posted in the Washington Post about Perry, in the article she is put in the same category as Chris Brown which is a little harsh. The author said that many celebs have been on the show wearing appropriate clothes, unlike Perry. The author also mentions how some celebs don't get their sketch on the show, like Chris Brown. I think that the directors of Sesame Street and or her agents should have corrected her outfit and or just changed it. This could have been prevented, what do you think?
P.S. I have posted the article about the show with the video in it and for kicks... the Chris Brown one!

Skateboarding is so in!
Rob Dyrdek is a true entrepreneur, while having a successful career as a professional skateboarder. He represents DC skateboarding company and numerous other companies. Rob has had two successful shows on MTV and MTV2, which are Fantasy Factory and Rob and Big. The filming is paid for by MTV but all the outrageous material is paid for out of his own pocket. He invests in restaurants, inventions, and companies that need that extra push. I think he is a real mentor to young kids as well, because he is constantly opening up his factory to the public, making safe skate parks, and giving money away to the less fortunate. He knows just what to invest his time in and we should take a lesson from him!

Wii Fit... Does it really Work?
All summer I nannied for a family of three girls who were like little divas. They always had cute clothes from Abercrombie and always wanted to workout on Wii fit. I should mention they were 9, 13, and 15 (yes I know insane). I tried the fitness game and found myself looking and feeling like an idiot. The kids I watched always broke a sweat, but I couldn't. I don't know if I didn't try hard enough or what but I never believed it worked. The other day I was watching the new kids I nanny and the eight year old insisted she need to do yoga. I burst out laughing and she was taken aback by my laughter, because she was completely serious. An article by Forbes said that people who own Wii fit don't lose weight because they don't routinely do it for a month. I wonder if someone for a month did the game would actually lose weight?

VMA's 2010 Kanye vs. Taylor
So if anyone tuned in Sunday night to watch the 2010 VMA's on MTV you couldn't help but feel like everyone hated Kanye. He was the pit of most jokes by my favorite Chelsea Handler. Last year he embarrassed the young Taylor Swift when she won her award for best music video. He stormed on stage and took the mic from her hands (mid speech) and proceeded to tell everyone Beyonce deserved it more. Since last year Kanye has been perceived as the music industries "asshole".
This year at the VMA's Taylor preformed a song about innocence, while Kanye ended the evening with a song called Runwayy. "Let's have a toast for the a**holes Let's have a toast for the d*****bags Let's have a toast for the scumbags, every one of them that I know Let's have a toast for the jerk-offs they'll never take work off Baby I gotta plan, run away fast as you can."These lyrics were somewhat evidence of what an ass Kanye really is. I mean I love his music but no need to sing that song after all night he was hated on for being all the things he said in his song.

Bachelorette takes over fenway!
So I was reading Boston.com today trying to find something to write about when I came across the most recent "Bachelorette" from the ABC show made an appearance at Fenway. Ali Fedotowsky threw out the first pitch at last nights game. Since I am a fan of the show I thought it was funny to see the hometown girl back in Boston. Ali is one of many women that have been on the bachelor or bachelorette and tried to find love. I could never be one a love reality show, because you never know what the guy is doing or saying to your fellow contestants. Also how can you just fall in love with this one pretty boy who you know nothing about and only have a brief segment period of a date before commercials cut in. Today people on reality television have no shame! I would never want to be on tv and not know what was going to be shown or not.
Here is the page about the Bachelorette... enjoy!

GAGA
Okay so today I started babysitting for a nice family with two children who are super cute, but crazy hyper. I tried everything to get the little girl Hannah, whose ten to calm down and the only thing that would do the trick was having a dance contest. She insisted we listen to Lady Gaga's Alejandro over times ten IN A ROW! Hannah's mom only lets her listen to YouTube songs that have only lyrics (no dancing), because they can be so inappropriate. Right when the song came on she mentioned that Gaga swears in the song and how she loves learning new swears, at this point I had no idea what to do... Hannah seems like a very impressionable young kid right now and Gaga is defiantly not the best role model. Even some songs that Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, and other teen sensations display the wrong message to young kids. Also YouTube can be a dangerous place for kids, because you can click your way to inappropriate videos. I was with my boyfriend's five year old niece the other day and she clicked herself into a YouTube semi porno. Horrified, I grabbed the computer and decided to change our activity to Wii. Should kids be able use YouTube and watch music videos on computers? I think their should defiantly be an age limit, but how old is old enough there is just so much bad?....
