Katy Perry was recently given the boot from premiering on Sesame Street, because of inappropriate clothing. Parents said her recent video re-make of Hot and Cold with Elmo showed to much cleavage. The song was actually really funny and age appropriate. It was about dress up time and how Elmo didn't want to play with her because he's hot and cold. There was a article posted in the Washington Post about Perry, in the article she is put in the same category as Chris Brown which is a little harsh. The author said that many celebs have been on the show wearing appropriate clothes, unlike Perry. The author also mentions how some celebs don't get their sketch on the show, like Chris Brown. I think that the directors of Sesame Street and or her agents should have corrected her outfit and or just changed it. This could have been prevented, what do you think?

I just wrote about that and then I saw your post! I totally think it could have been prevented. But is it really okay to have a woman on the show with her reputation? Her songs are not usually kid friendly. What if they want to start listening to more of her songs?
ReplyDeleteI've heard this story a couple of times on the radio. I do agree with you that the directors should have chose different clothing for her and that she, as a "role model", is not an appropriate guest on a children's show.
