So if anyone tuned in Sunday night to watch the 2010 VMA's on MTV you couldn't help but feel like everyone hated Kanye. He was the pit of most jokes by my favorite Chelsea Handler. Last year he embarrassed the young Taylor Swift when she won her award for best music video. He stormed on stage and took the mic from her hands (mid speech) and proceeded to tell everyone Beyonce deserved it more. Since last year Kanye has been perceived as the music industries "asshole".
This year at the VMA's Taylor preformed a song about innocence, while Kanye ended the evening with a song called Runwayy. "Let's have a toast for the a**holes Let's have a toast for the d*****bags Let's have a toast for the scumbags, every one of them that I know Let's have a toast for the jerk-offs they'll never take work off Baby I gotta plan, run away fast as you can."These lyrics were somewhat evidence of what an ass Kanye really is. I mean I love his music but no need to sing that song after all night he was hated on for being all the things he said in his song.
I love that for like a calendar year, nobody cared about the Kanye/Taylor thing then when the VMA's came around, the story came back up. So both of them sangs songs about what happened, Taylor being about forgiveness (I mean, all he did was storm the stage to ruin a fake award, right?) and Kanye did his about how he's a bad person. They seems to both LOVE this story.
ReplyDelete(Also, I'm pretty sure the South Park episode about Kanye proved everything he sang about)
I think all of this was really played out.I could understand why Taylor would be angry i would to.But there are so many more important things that the VMAs could have focused on.These shows these days are so overrated and stupid.I dont care about what happened a year ago, show some great live performances of the music we heard this year, thats what your suppose to be doing.
ReplyDeleteBut i agree with Icebuddy about that south park episode. it was also really funny ha.
I couldn't agree more with both of you! I think that before VMA season rolled around no one even remembered the 2009 show. This year both artists kept the story alive and I wonder if it will still be brought up next year too...
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that South Park episode, but I will just for some laughs!
