Online classes at BSU
I am taking two online classes this semester, which is so convenient since I commute to BSU. It limits the driving that I do to Bridgewater during the week. This online class I think is much more organized than the others I have taken in the past. The other COMM class I am taking is so hard to understand, because the professor never explained what he wants when doing papers, responses, and so on. During the summer I took a online class that was completely unorganized. Every week the class lectures and power points were added late leaving only three days to get work done. I didn't do well at all because I need a weeks time to get work done and understand what I am learning about. Has anyone else had online classes like this?

Lizie's film as communication course im in now , its not so much that hes unorganized, its just the work itself was never really explained and hes a pretty tough grader when it comes down to it.
ReplyDeleteI am a BIg fan of online classes. I work two jobs, and this allows me the flexibility I need. I had a rough semester, my first round taking online classes, and each semester, it takes me a few weeks to 'feel out' the professor, about their expectations and the way in which they run their course. Sometimes online classes are not for everyone, but more times than not, they are very well organized, and you can communicate with the professor via email frequently.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you - I really like this online class because i can plan ahead for the week and it is organized. I have had some not so good online classes before - one of them we had to do a group project - doesn't that defeat the purpose of an online class?

I like online classes but I think I like going to class more. I like social interaction with others that isn't on a discussion board or on a blog. I like seeing how people interact. I even like the joy of the surprise that class has been canceled. What I don't like so much is my gas bill.
ReplyDeleteI like online classes for the same reason you stated. Not having to come to campus all week is an advantage. I've taken a few online classes and I've noticed much like face to face classes all professors are different. There is that same feeling out period at the beginning of the semester. I do tend to loose my patience if the professor is not on top of their game, if they can't post the work on time we can accomplish it on time. I like being able to gauge my work out weeks in advance.
